“Striving and Surviving”
This symbolic self portrait was first inspired by the pet cat portraits I was doing that turned into searching for a deeper identity. I thought about the more primal version of animals in the wild having to do much more to survive than we do (like just going to the grocery store). I struggle with mental health and although we are in a pandemic on top of that, I have become more self aware and strong during this time and very much alive regardless of our situation and restrictions. The big cat, too, has adapted to be good at surviving its circumstances.
