Queerantined Installation

Queerantined compares the current situation of global emergency that has forced millions of people into lock down with the fear of coming out and being accepted as a queer person. I am using my own experience as person that hasn’t fully come out, denying the experience of being able to express and to be all that I want. This work not only serves as an archive of the current personal and global situation, but also to raise awareness that homophobia and trans-phobia remains a major issue in our societies. During the time we are living now, we have the opportunity to understand the implications of being confined and isolated, and the desire of freedom that comes with it. I invite the viewer to ask the questions of what does it feel to have your freedom of choice be suppressed? What does it feel to be isolated because of your gender identity, like you are sick, like you have a deadly virus?
