I am sad. I am not normally a sad person. I like to be happy. I convey a sunny attitude most of the time. Laughter and a positive outlook is always best. But people are suffering in so many ways right now. In this portrait I am not looking for likeness as much as depth and intensity of feeling. My pens glided themselves over the paper creating, with the help of a mirror, an unplanned visage that is about to cry. I intend to shake myself loose from this mood and try to spread joy. I will call a friend and make her laugh.
