How can a microscopic virus called Covid-19 cause so much global harm?
For the past weeks that I have been sheltering at home, Covid-19’s toll of destruction and devastation has consumed my attention. I have marked this time by creating several drawings per week. Using pen, ink, colored pencils, collaged paper and acrylic, these personal interpretations exist on small, square pieces of 6x6 inch paper.
They are not pretty pictures. They address suffering, isolation and death. They are fraught with an emotion that reaches the depths of all mankind. Echoing the virus itself, the power of each image lies not in its size, but in its strength.
