“Help”
This piece entitled Help explores the concepts of separation, protection and identity as it relates to the global struggle with Covid-19. Help is an electronic sculpture, which consists of a futuristic humanoid head that is illuminated by an interactive metallic brain. The sculpture glows from a multicolored light source that reacts to sonic energy. Ambient sounds alter the color of light that is displayed. Help is isolated behind acrylic barriers and is fitted with a stainless steel face-mask. Constructing the internal support structure from sheet metal allows for experimental controlled-release illumination.
