Humor is a key element in my practice. I’m interested in re-contextualization and formation of fake meaning. My works are inspired by pictures, movie stills, upside down thinking, a sentence from a short story, mental archetypes. Places, body parts, fragments of life, invite the viewer to formulate a narrative. Through my work I explore physical and spatial relationships between people and places, capturing moments in my paintings and drawings that speak to the universal notions of global identity, memory, and displacement.
