“Tears”
Oil on canvas. 60cm x 80cm.
Initially, this work, as part of my environmental project, shows the suffering of the world's oceans from waste pollution; this suffering cannot be expressed better than by waterfalls of tears. But suddenly it embodied other meanings. Here are some of them:
* a woman as a hero of our time, who has endured thousands of sufferings, but despite the difficulties, continues her path as a mother, wife, daughter, sister...
* a symbol of what is happening right now around us: the Cup is filled with grief, sadness, fears and anxieties, but it is still not full, which means that the end of all this ugliness is close.
In isolation, this image is more and more reflecting my identity: I can't stand restrictions of any kind, even objective, even necessary, but this situation is definitely affecting my psyche. This is probably one of the top challenges for me over the past five years...
